FREE PRIVATE BOOK COACH
DISCOVER THE BOOK YOU WANT TO WRITE
You do not need a title, a plan, or any idea where to begin. Ten minutes of questions and you will have a working idea, a likely reader and a possible chapter list.
If you want to write a book but can't yet say what it is, you are exactly where everybody starts. The problem isn't that the idea is bad. It's that nobody has asked you the right question about it.
The Coach asks one at a time, in private, and never writes a word for you.
How this works
Tell us where to send it
Your email address, and nothing else. No card, no account, no password to invent.
Open your private link
It arrives in about thirty seconds. The link is yours to keep and come back to — you do not have to finish in one sitting.
Do the thing
Ten minutes or so. You keep whatever it produces, whether or not you go any further.
Twenty minutes from now, you'll know:
- what your book is actually about - which is rarely what you thought
- who it's for, specifically enough to write towards them
- the promise or the story holding the whole thing together
- the themes and chapters already sitting in your head, written down
- the one next thing to do, small enough that you'll actually do it
This is a sample. Here's the full version.
The free Book Coach gives you a working title, a premise and a chapter list. The full Book Coach keeps going: it works through each chapter with you, remembers what you decided three sessions ago, and hands the plan straight to Plan Feedback to be stress-tested before you write.
What Your Book Pro is
Your Book Pro is a British book-writing platform. You bring a book — an idea, a folder of notes, half a draft, or a finished manuscript written somewhere else — and it gives you the editorial process a publisher would run: a plan, structured feedback, a simulated beta read, a line edit, a proofread, a cover, a blurb and a print-ready file. You can type it, upload it or speak it. The tools sit in one place and work on the same manuscript, so the feedback compounds instead of arriving as twelve disconnected opinions.
I'm not going to write your book for you
I could have built a button that produces eighty thousand words. It would have been quicker to make and it would have been worthless, because a book nobody wrote is a book nobody wants to read.
The Coach asks, listens and organises. Every decision, every sentence and every judgement stays with you. That isn't a limitation I apologise for. It's the entire point.
Why I built this
I'm Tom Collins. I built Your Book Pro after watching too many people carry a book around for thirty years without ever starting it.
Not one of them was short of material. What they were short of was somebody sitting beside them asking the right question at the right moment - which is what a good editor does, and what almost nobody can afford at the beginning.
So I built the beginning. It's free, because the beginning is where people give up.
Questions
- I don't know what kind of book I want to write.
- Good. That's the problem this was built for. Turning up with nothing but a feeling is the normal starting position, and it's a better one than turning up with a plan you've talked yourself into.
- Will it write the book for me?
- No, and it won't offer to. It asks questions, reflects your answers back and helps you see the shape. The words are yours to write, which is the only way they'll be worth reading.
- Do I need an account or a card?
- No card, ever, for this. You only create a free account when you want to save the work - and that account comes with 1,000 credits, also free.
- How long does it take?
- Most people get somewhere useful in twenty minutes. You can stop and come back; your answers wait for you.
- What happens to what I tell it?
- It stays private. Your link is personal, your answers are yours, and nothing you write is used to sell anything to anybody.
