WRITER'S BLOCK, BOOK-SIZED

Not tips. Questions about the actual book you stopped writing.

Nearly all writer's block advice is written for somebody staring at a blank page. If you have thirty thousand words and no idea how to carry on, almost none of it applies to you.

This is for a book that already exists and has stopped moving. It asks what's in it, where you stopped and what was coming next, then gives you one section you can write today.

How this works

  1. Tell us where to send it

Your email address, and nothing else. No card, no account, no password to invent.

  2. Open your private link

It arrives in about thirty seconds. The link is yours to keep and come back to — you do not have to finish in one sitting.

  3. Do the thing

Ten minutes or so. You keep whatever it produces, whether or not you go any further.

Free. No card. Private.

Free. No card. Paste a short extract (100-5,000 words) from where it stalled - your text is not stored. It asks questions about your book: it doesn't write it, and it won't hand you tips you've already read.

By signing up, you agree to receive useful writing tips and occasional Your Book Pro offers by email. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will never sell your details or share them with third parties for their own marketing.

Your words stay yours. Full copyright, and passed through AI to be read; we opt out of AI training whenever we can.

By the end you'll have:

  • the real reason you stopped, named
  • why pushing harder hasn't worked, and probably won't
  • one section you can genuinely write today
  • what to do about the part you've been going around
  • a way back in that doesn't require rereading the whole thing

This is a sample. Here's the full version.

This diagnoses where you stopped. The full Writer's Block tool works on the actual manuscript — it reverse-outlines the chapters behind the stall and shows you where the through-line broke, which is nearly always earlier than where you stopped writing.

What Your Book Pro is

Your Book Pro is a British book-writing platform. You bring a book — an idea, a folder of notes, half a draft, or a finished manuscript written somewhere else — and it gives you the editorial process a publisher would run: a plan, structured feedback, a simulated beta read, a line edit, a proofread, a cover, a blurb and a print-ready file. You can type it, upload it or speak it. The tools sit in one place and work on the same manuscript, so the feedback compounds instead of arriving as twelve disconnected opinions.

Not another list of tips

You have already read the articles. Write every day. Lower your standards. Move your desk. If general advice worked, you wouldn't still be looking.

This asks about your book instead - what's in it, where you stopped, what you were about to have to write. The answer that comes out is specific to you, which is the only kind that moves anything.

And it doesn't write the section for you. If it did you'd have a book you didn't write, which is the same as not having one.

Why I built this

I'm Tom Collins. I built Your Book Pro after watching too many people carry a book around for thirty years without ever starting it.

Not one of them was short of material. What they were short of was somebody sitting beside them asking the right question at the right moment - which is what a good editor does, and what almost nobody can afford at the beginning.

So I built the beginning. It's free, because the beginning is where people give up.

Questions

Do I need to send my manuscript?
Yes. Paste or upload 100 to 5,000 words from where the book stalled. Supported document formats are shown beside the upload control.
I stopped two years ago.
That's the most common answer and it changes nothing about how this works. Time away isn't the problem. Not knowing what stopped you is.
What if the honest answer is that the book isn't good?
Occasionally it is, and that's worth finding out after twenty minutes rather than another year. Far more often the book is fine and the chapter you're standing in front of is the problem.
Will it write the difficult bit for me?
No. It asks questions until you can see what the difficult bit actually is. What you do about it is yours.
