What these tools do instead
Grammarly is built for general prose, and a book is not general prose. It does not know that your character speaks in dialect on purpose, that your invented term is capitalised a particular way, that a fragment is doing rhythmic work, or that the repetition in chapter nine is deliberate. Applied uncritically to a manuscript it will smooth exactly the things that make the book yours.
