Private printed copies
These copies are intended for your own use, family, friends, reviewers, events or a limited private audience. Ordering copies does not publish the book or place it in bookshops or online retailers.
Planning to sell your book?
We recommend following the self-publishing process first, including ISBN, retail-ready files, pricing and distribution.

Refunds, replacements and proof approval
What can I get refunded?
Printed books are made to order for one reader — you — so we cannot resell a returned copy. We cannot refund or reprint mistakes that were present in the PDF proof you approved: spelling, grammar or wording; layout, page order, fonts, images or colour as shown in the proof; cover artwork, title, author name or blurb; a change of mind, the wrong quantity, or a delivery address you entered incorrectly.
What if my book arrives damaged or wrong?
We always replace or refund books that arrive damaged or misprinted, books that do not match the proof you approved, copies with pages bound out of order, missing or blank through a printing fault, and orders lost in delivery. Email hello@yourbook.pro with your order details and photographs within 30 days of delivery. Reporting within 30 days helps us investigate quickly; it does not limit or replace your statutory rights, which apply for longer where the law says so.
How do I change my book before ordering?
Edit the words, chapters and page order in your book's Shape → Edit tab. Change the cover, blurb, title and author name, spine text, or the paper size, colour and binding, in Prepare. Then regenerate your files in Prepare → Prepare Files and run the file checks again — a fresh proof appears for you to read and approve. Any earlier approval is retired automatically, so nothing prints until you sign off the new proof.
Can I cancel an order after placing it?
Yes, but only in the short window before the printer starts making your book. Open Account → Printed orders and use Cancel order. If cancellation succeeds we refund the payment automatically. Once printing has started, or the order has shipped, it can no longer be cancelled.
How are delivery cost and speed decided?
We ask the printer which delivery speeds are available to your exact destination and show the cost and estimated arrival for each. If you change your country, state or postcode we re-check automatically, and if your chosen speed is no longer offered we switch it and tell you. Your choice is saved on the order and checked once more with the printer just before production begins, so nothing is produced against a delivery method that is no longer available. Estimated delivery dates are the printer's estimates, not guarantees.
What do the file checks look at?
Before you can approve a proof we check the things printers reject books for: page count and trim size, margins and bleed, embedded fonts, image resolution (we flag any picture below roughly 300 DPI at its printed size, page by page), spine width and spine text — spine text needs about 80 pages or more to fit — and the reserved barcode area on the back cover, which stays clear so a barcode can be added if you use an ISBN. Warnings explain what to fix; blocking problems must be resolved before ordering.
How do I know where my order is?
Printed orders appear in Account → Printed orders with their current status. We also email you when your book ships, including tracking details where the carrier provides them, and if the printer ever rejects an order we email you the reason so you can fix it and try again.
The proof-approval policy you sign
Before any printed book can be priced or ordered, you confirm each of these statements and type your name. This is the exact wording stored in your sign-off record and used to decide refund requests:
- I have opened and read the complete PDF proof of this book, from the first page to the last page.
- I have checked the cover: the title, my author name, the spine, the back cover, the blurb and any barcode area are correct.
- I have checked the inside pages: spelling, grammar, chapter order, page breaks, images and captions are as I want them printed.
- I understand printed colour, paper shade and trimming vary slightly from what I see on screen, and that this is not a fault.
- I understand this is my final approval. Once I approve, the book is printed exactly as shown in this proof.
- I understand printed books are made to order and cannot be returned or refunded for spelling, layout, cover, colour or content mistakes in the file I approved.
Policy version print-proof-v1. Nothing here affects your statutory rights where they apply.
