What it does
There is no form to fill in and no correct way to answer. It works from what you actually said or wrote, not from a template, which is why the chapter list it returns tends to contain the thing you were circling rather than the thing you set out to write. If you already have notes, fragments or half a manuscript, feed those in instead and it will work from the material rather than from your description of it.

The mistake: waiting until you know what the book is
Almost every unwritten book is stuck in the same place. The author believes they need to know the shape before they can start, and they are trying to find that shape by thinking about it. It does not work, because the shape is not in your head — it is in the material, and you cannot see the material until some of it is out.
This is why a coach's first session is worth so much and why it is almost never sold separately. Ten minutes of somebody asking you the right questions produces a structure that six months of private deliberation does not. The questions are not clever. They are just questions you will not ask yourself, because you already know the answers and have therefore stopped noticing them.
