Getting started
I've Always Wanted to Write a Book - But I Don't Know Where to Start

You have always wanted to write a book.
The problem is that whenever somebody asks what your book is about, the answer is something like: “I’m not completely sure yet.”
That is not a reason not to start. In fact, it may be exactly the right place to start.
Your Book Pro’s Ask the Editor now lets you talk your idea through before you have written a single word. You can type, or simply speak, and have a genuine back-and-forth conversation designed to help you discover what you might enjoy writing.

You don’t need to arrive with a book idea
Perhaps there is a period of your life you keep thinking about. Maybe friends are always asking for your advice. You might have spent years building a business, travelling, teaching, preaching or becoming unusually knowledgeable about something.
Or perhaps all you know is that you love books and would like to make one of your own.
Tell the Editor that.

It will ask one question at a time, respond to what you actually say and follow the interesting threads. It might ask about experiences that stayed with you, ideas you cannot stop thinking about, the people you would like to write for, or books and authors you love.
And if you mention a favourite book, the useful question is not “shall we copy it?” It is what did you love about it? The humour? Short chapters? Honesty? Suspense? Illustrations? The way it explained something complicated?
Your answers begin to reveal the kind of book you might want to create.
Find a direction - not a verdict
Ask the Editor is not there to announce that it has “found your book”.
It may uncover several possibilities.
A lifetime of business experience might become a practical leadership book, a memoir, or a combination of the two. Family memories might become a public memoir or simply a beautiful private book for your children and grandchildren.
You can explore different directions, keep talking or try a light working plan and see how it feels.
Most importantly, the AI does not write the book for you. It asks questions, helps you think and gives you somewhere useful to begin. The ideas, experiences and writing remain yours.
Your Book Pro can then help you dictate or type, upload existing talks or podcasts, organise chapters, get editorial feedback and even prepare and print real copies.
